the reds:
Wild Pig Réserve Merlot. France. £3.95 £16.00 Soft, juicy and eminently quaffable. A wine which leaves you wanting more, in fact - why not devour the bottle - make a real pig of yourself! Navajas Rioja Tinto. Spain £4.25 £16.75 This is Rioja at its precocious youthful best. It has a huge following and goes from strength to strength. Be warned though, ever so more-ish and easily glugged. Primitivo Puglia, Barocco. Italy £4.70 £17.70 Buckets of Italian rustic fuitiness. Like a baby Barolo, but for half the price. Pinot Noir Jean D'Alibert 2004. France £19.50 Quite a fabulous wine. A fine and elegant red with flavours of cherry and a hint of earth and spice made from the holy grail of grape varieties.
-
dessert wines:
Monbazillac, Château Poulvère. France. 37.5cl £19.00 This is golden hued, Sauternes-like heaven. Soft and sweet, but not cloying, with passing traces of apricots, marmalade and honey.
-
the whites:
Wild Pig Unoaked Reserve Chardonnay 2005. France - £3.95 £16.00 Aptly named for us, after Greta, a wild pig, taken in by the vineyard owner having been wounded. A decent, clean-living wine with uncomplicated, no-strings-attached drinking fun. Pinot Blanc Resérve, Cave de Hunawihr. Italy. £4.50 £16.95 Desert dry and deliciously refreshing - A fine wine. Sauvignon de Touraine. Domaine Guy Allion. France. £19.95 My latest, greatest discovery. Bordering on dry, but fruity, with a crisp finish. Tastes like it could be the lovechild of Sancerre.
-
rose:
Lou Souleilh, Côtes de Provence. France £4.25 £16.75 Strawberry, summer, Cider with Rosie, Summer 8s – The epitome of summer decadence in a glass. I could live on Côtes de Provence Rosé.

Best Bitter £ 3.50
500 ml bottle (3.4%) A Golden, well balanced bitter, fruity and refreshing: drinks fuller than its 3.4% making it an excellent session beer. Best Bitter has been a winner in three of the last four Brewing Industry International Awards. Good with just about anything.
-
Double Stout £ 3.75
500 ml bottle (4.8%) A smooth, full-bodied stout, with a refreshing hoppy aftertaste. Brewed with proportions of Black Malt for colour and "toast" flavour, and Brown Malt for dryness. Although the maltness dominates, the hop character brings a slight zest and robustness to the palate. Very good to accompany venison.
-
Cotswold Brewing Company Lager £ 3.75
500 ml bottle (5.0%)
-
Haymaker Pale Ale £ 3.75
500 ml bottle (5.0%) A premium pale ale with a distinctive fruity taste. The beer is slight in colour, and has a refreshing clean flavour, which belies its strength. The nose is sweet and floral, derived principally from the dominance of the Goldings Hops. Compliments all the pork sausages.
-
Old Hooky Ale £ 3.50
500 ml bottle (4.6%) A well balanced and full bodied beer demonstrating fruitiness, with the Crystal Malt content being distinctive. The hoppy mouth feel gives way to a sweeter finish, but not to spoil the experience. Very drinkable and ideal with pork or vegetarian sausages.
