the reds:
Wild Pig Réserve Merlot 2005. France. £3.50 £14.00
Soft, juicy and eminently quaffable. A wine which leaves you wanting more, in fact - why not devour the bottle - make a real pig of yourself!
Lantana Shiraz/Cabernet 2004. Australia £3.75 £15.50
Packed bodice tight with spiced blackberry and cassis. Big, bold and rather coarse - just your typical Aussie bruiser.
Navajas Rioja Tinto 2005. Spain £4.00 £16.95
This is Rioja at its precocious youthful best. It has a huge following and goes from strength to strength. Be warned though, ever so moreish and easily glugged.
Pinot Noir Jean D'Alibert 2004. France £17.50
Quite a fabulous wine. A fine and elegant red with flavours of cherry and a hint of earth and spice made from the holy grail of grape varieties.
Côtes Du Ventoux Dom. Du Vieux Larazet 2005. France £17.95
A lesser known Southern Rhone that will knock the spots off some of its aristocratic neighbours. Unknown but rather unbeatable.
The Oxford Connoisseur's Claret NV £19.50
The traditional drop for the classic English Gent. One should only really match such fine snorkers with top quality Claret.

the whites:
Wild Pig Unoaked Reserve Chardonnay 2005. France - £3.50 £14.00
Aptly named for us, after Greta, a wild pig, taken in by the vineyard owner having been wounded. A decent, clean-living wine with uncomplicated, no-strings-attached drinking fun.
Pinot Grigio, Botter 2005. Italy. £4.00 £16.50
Crisp, dry and refreshing with a touch of lively petillance. I am afraid it is another Italian 'PG', but it really is quite nice.
Brampton Sauvignon Blanc 2005. South Africa £18.95 a bottle
Absolute quality Sauv Blanc, billed as the wine for good-looking folk... just the standard Big Bang clientele.

rose:
Domaine du Mage, Côtes de Gascogne. France 2005 £3.75 £14.95
Strawberry, summer, Cider with Rosie, Summer 8s – The epitome of summer decadence in a glass.
